Just make sure it is the latest Mil-Spec with the Fancy wood grips, extra black plastic grips, and the extra mag, mag holder, and holster in the blue plastic case... if it doesn't have all that with it, then it is the older production gun and not as good a value.

I went to the range with my son last Sunday and broke-in my new Mil-Spec.
It had an awful trigger out of the box (a mule couldn't pull it) but after 150 perfect rounds of ball ammo it smoothed right out... still heavy but MUCH better than it was... 25yrd accuracy was very good!

SA Mil-Spec's are awesome 1911s for the money. I put new grips on it and works like a charm. Make sure to run good mags through it. I bought a few "cheap" mil surplus mags that were total crap. They were cheap and caused me all sorts of pain, the factory mags and wilson's for work great.

Springer did quite a bit of work to his mil spec; I think it's in the photo section. Lot of flexibility and options for it.
