Question Lost "take down piece" for SA Champion?

So I lost my little plastic take down peice that you snap over the exposed portion of the guide rod when disassembling a champion model, so now what do i do? is there an alternative method for disassembly not requireing this little plastic piece? Does anybody know where I can get another one? I tried searching on the net, but had no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I had a Champion that did not come with the takedown piece and recall that it was a bit more difficult to disassemble, but could be done. Reassembly was a bear as well. Unfortunately, I cannot remember for the life of me how I did it.

My advice would be to call Springfield and have them send you another one.

Plus, I wanted to post so that there were two Mad Max themed avatars in the same thread.

You should be able to fashion a piece to do the same job. Also if I remember right from my Champions OM there is a fairly simple way to do it without the piece. Read through it and see if there is somethin.

Piece of BIC pen cut to length and then remove about 1/4 of the circumference. Better yet is the pen cap.

Call Springfield and ask for another. They'll send you them for free. Actually ask for more than one in case you lose it again

Sorry Cobra I thought there was at least one other way. Look at the guide rod and see if there is a small hole in it where you could put a paperclip or something else in to act like the clip.
