My Wilson Combat

Here are my two Wilson Combat 1911s: CQB and Professional.

Professional is one of my carry guns.

CQB is my competition gun.

Bycyclist - I love that CQB! I want that color scheme for my Kimber (gray bottom and black top.)

How is the armor tuff finish holding up for you guns?

As for your questions, their wait time varies from a couple days to several months, but the CQB's are their most popular model, so they might even have one in stock. Best to just call and ask. Their customer service is awesome, everyone there is enjoyable to talk to. I think everything else has been covered.
OHHHH!!! That just does "things" to me.

Next to IonBond, WC's Armor Tuff holds up better than Parkerized, Durocoat, KGGunkote in my direct experience. Check the Professional's slide - thats from alot of daily wear and carry in kydex, which hasn't resulted in too many markings yet. The CQB is my competition gun, also in kydex holster and has gone through thousands of draws, with minimal markings.

My wife bought me a nice 1911 for Christmas this year, I had shot a Kimber Pro CDPII before I bought my first handgun and was really considering a 1911 as my first, but I ended up with the XD not wanting to drop $1k on my first handgun. She bought me a match grade everything Dan Wesson Pointman Seven and I love it. Got it on sale for a hair over $700 after tax and what not (They normally run $850+). I love this pistol, but I'd like to handle a WC or similar and get one as I love the 1911. It's just a fantastic pistol.

I would recommend getting your hands on and firing a 1911 if possible before spending the money necessary to own a Wilson Combat. As far as the cocked and locked, I'd recommend seeing if you can find a buddy who has one that carries and see if he/she will let you try the holster and 1911 cocked and locked (empty chamber) to see how you like it. Just to wear around at the house or at the range.

There is a plunger that keeps the safety engaged or disengaged, but not the same type of internal safety as the XD.
