removing ILS on mainspring housing
I knew where the thread was on this , but I cant find it now . Can anyone help? I have a Mil-Spec 1911 Springfield full size that I want to take out the key-lock (ILS ) and replace with a regular mainspring housing , like a Wilson Combat one . Anyone know where the thread is ?

I just had to return a Wilson Combat MSH I got from Midway. The pin hole was off a few mills and the pin could not go through the other side of the frame. it has an RCH off. I tried fitting it by hand but it was too off. I also found the big machined hole that the mainspring fits in was off because the pin hole was off. The bottom cap could not protrude out the bottom of the hole to hold the pin in the middle where it is has the relief cut.

I ordered the Kimber one as an alternative [and over $20 cheaper] and it dropped right in. Midway was awesome and promptly refunded my money and return shipping costs.

I would normally order an Ed Brown one. I have never had any issue with their parts. But this one was for an Officers model and they do not seem to make officers MSH any more.
