Well after alot of reading and some physical comparisons I went with the Springfield GI model. Taurus was nice, dont get me wrong-but the GI brought back memories of the glorious USMC!-
Even though they were using the Beretta's at the time, I got a chance to shoot the 1911-A1, and really enjoyed everything about it. Its been awhile...but it brought back some good memories. Thanks for everyone's input!! Much Appriciated!! Semper Fi! Sgt-USMC 1991-1999 ps. I'll post some pics when I get a chance-everyone loves pics! |

Good choice with the Springfield. I had a Taurus PT1911, well actually 3 of them, because they kept breaking. Taurus had horrible customer service.

Thats the one thing I hear across the board more than anything-
Regardless of what brand I own, I just some satisfaction when something breaks that the company will be there, without any hassle! |

I've been pondering the same question for a while now. after holding the taurus and SA ss gi I've made the decision to go with the ss GI it feels so much better in my hand than the taurus besides I dont really want any of the upgrades to the 1911 other than possibly the sights and I keep hearing about problems with some of the taurus 1911's anyway and their customer service and have heard virtually nothing bad about the SA GI.
