<------- prefers concealing his fullsize 1911 over XD45c

I've CCed the wife's 1911 clone and two spare mags with no problems. CQC holster and uncle mikes mag carrier.

The Blade-Tech UCH conceals it well due to the slim profile. I find concealing a full size 1911 is hard due to the grip length.

Grip length on the full size made me carry an Officer's length for years. Not to mention lightening the load some.

I bought the xd45c to get the shorter grip and keep the 4" barrel. Think I'd still prefer to carry a 1911. My next carry auto will be another 1911 w/ a commander length slide and officers length grip.

I carried a 1911 Government model for the first five years I had my CHL. I had no problems concealing it and the spare magazines, it was the weight that became a problem.

I used a Milt Sparks Summer special IWB holster and it was no problem concealing the large pistol as it is fairly flat. The 40 ounces dry weight, and the limited magazine capacity that required me to carry at least one mag and on most occasions two, that became an issue after having it on all day.

I don't have a problem concealing a full size 1911 or xd and glock for that matter. There are some things big guys have the advantage in, and others where we don't. The only gun I really have problems with is the Beretta 92/96.
