Compaired New EMP with Old EMP
I just got a second EMP 2 weeks ago.
The 1st EMP had some failure to feed problems mostly with Hollow Points. I chalked it up to the break in period. Once I got past the 500 round mark. The gun was 100%. I have put well over 6000 round thought the first EMP with out any problems. When I got my 2nd one. I compaired the 2 as far as how my well my used EMP compaired to the new one. Cycling the slide. No recoil spring. The 2nd one felt a little gritty compaired to the used one. I am going to say it is because it is new and not broken in. Once broken in I am sure it will smooth out and be pretty equal. Cycling by hand with the recoil spring installed. Now with my first EMP having over 6000 round thought it. I expect it to feel easier than the new EMP to my surprise. I can barlier feel a differance. So that tells me even with 6000+ round the recoill spring holds up very well. Trigger pull Both the same. Now this is by feel not a pull gauge. Trigger reset both very short. Which I like. Trigger pull Short very little take up and very clean and crisp. If I had to guess anywhere 4 to 5 pound pull. Magazine This where I can feel a real difference. The old EMP has an equal amount of round +/- 100 rounds through them. Total 6000+. It is much easier to load the 3 factory mag from the old EMP than it is with the 3 new EMP mags. Even with that many rounds I have never had any problems with the slide locking back, Feeding, etc. I even used the old mag in the new EMP and still didn't have any problem. Fit and Finish The old EMP is still tight but very smooth. The finish has held up very well, Just minor little scratches as with any well used gun. The New EMP is just as tight but a little gritty. I am sure this will smooth once I get my round count up. First EMP (ser# less than 800) Second Emp (ser# less than 3600) My first EMP will eat anything and I mean anything I feed it, Weather it is Factory stuff, Reloads. It dosen't matter what type, weight or even style of bullet it will feed and fire it with out any trouble. Now the my 2nd EMP. I am not sure yet. All I haved used it factory. 1st 100 rd's was WWB then thed gun was cleaned. The next 3 brands were back to back with out cleaning. 2nd another 100rd's of WWB 3rd 50rd's PMC 4th 50rd's Fiocchi I had no problem with feeding, extracting, firing or any other problem that would be common with a new gun. I have not feed it any kind of Hollow Points. I am hopeing to feed it some HP with in the next month. Work has me pretty bussy right now 6 days/12hr's and sundays 8hr's. I will try and get another report in soon. Bryan
