I used to have a RI GI model and the thing was great it came with a nice Novak magazine. And was really a good accurate gun and was a blast to shoot. The only odd things were the fact that the said Novak Mag wouldnt go into my Colt Commander or my brother Kimber Custom II. But the Colt and Kimber Mag would go right into the RI that is a tad odd. And as some one mentioned it has really small sights on it but they are easy to adjust to. I just recently sold the gun to my father and we have some where in the range of 5k through it with almost no problems.

damn I really regret having sold mine I only sold it for extra gas money when I moved from MO to OH. Basic GI model shot great, now planning on getting the compact for cc carrying my xd 9 service and as much as I like it it just isn't the same comfort.

I checked both the RIA tactical and a Charles Daly EFS model before eventually purchasing the CD, only because the finish looked better, same price, same company so you cant go wrong with either. So far I feel like I've stolen something for the price they sell at and what you get for the price

Oh I know that CD is no longer associated with Rock Island, but the one that I bought was old enough to where it should have still been made by the same people, it was produced in december '07 so this should have been a little before Mr. kassnar came around to say that they've broken away from armscor.

I bought a RIA GI & built it into a Tactical. WOW! What a great pistol! Then I bought a RIA 38 Super, then a RIA Tactical. I am very happy with each of the firearms.
