1911 detail strip?
well i was wondering if any one knows of a detail strip guide for 1911s like there is for the xd.
i have a 4" kimber pro carry II which uses the series 80 type firing pin block and a bushingless bull barrel and full length guide rod |

Guerrilla Gunsmith --- 1911 Detailed Disassembly
this is how I detailed my kimber pro. Take your time and pay attention to the details. Its not hard at all. |

oh and so the disassembly isn't different past the difference between the field strip?
i hope that makes sense basically what im trying to say is that once i have my kimber pro carry II field striped the detail disassembly of the frame and slide isn't different between it and the full size kimber custom II |

Dissasembly is the same. The trick to reassembly (for me at least ) is turning the slide upside down, then sliding the frame onto the slide. For some reason I could never get the slide on the other way. With series 70 pistols I didnt have to do this.

thats how i put the side on but i have to turn it right side up or the grip safety thing that pokes up will get in the way and prevent the slide from going all the way back
