Kimber: Classic vs. II?

I'm looking to get my first 1911, and my uncle is making me an offer on his Kimber Custom Classic. I can't find out much about this model, so I'm wondering how it compares to the Custom II. Is it the same, just an earlier generation? What is the ballpark value of one of these, blued with walnut grips, in 99% condition? (I forgot to ask how old it was.)

I haven't seen the gun, but I totally trust my uncle, and he says he has maybe 100 rounds through it. Before I tell you what he's asking for it, I wanted to see if you all had an opinion.

If it's the plain Kimber Custom Classic, I would say roughly $700-800, depending on condition. If it's the Heritage model, you can just about double the price.

They are not scientific by any means. Why do you ask? What's your opinion?

Book value is $650 NIB for a regular Custom. A far cry from $700-$800. Heck my Kimber CC II was only $650. Heritage is $1065 NIB. Excellent condition which his uncle's probably is, is $500 and $850 respectively.

Those prices comes from 2 different books I have. Gun dealers will pay about 70% of book value for a trade-in.

Good enough for me. I have no issue with "manin' up". I stand corrected. He has the books, and I don't. I was just thinking off the top of my head.

Sorry for the confusion.
