What type of holster?
What type of holster do you guys think results in the least amount of wear on a 1911? I have just gotten a Springfield LW Operator. It came used, technically, but has never been fired. A De Santis leather holster came with it, as well as the Springfield Kydex (I think it's kydex?) that comes with the pistol from the factory. I'm very particular about taking care of my guns, especially when they cost as much as this one, so I want to use a holster that will result in the least amount of wear. So, chime in, professionals.....

My 2 cents worth. The Kydex will scratch a few lines on the gun at point of contact. Leaving the rest of the gun almost like new. leather has more surface contact. But the contact is more of a buffing on the surface. Giveing it more of a well worn look. Leather gives your gun class. Kydex gives your gun Herpies.

Suede lined leather will be the easiest on your finish. Some of the best I've used are made by ElPaso Saddlery.
