the 1911a1
from the second i put hands on a 45 auto to this very second ,i say there has never been a better handgun . none even close! in vn i carried a remington rand . which i still have to this day. i admit i've pretty much retired it but it's had better then 75k rounds through it. but if need be i would not hesitate to feed more through it. i now use a ria 45 1911a1. i payed 435.00 for it. i'm posting this thread for all the colt, kimber and other brand name and custom people. i have owned this 45 for less then 6 months and have fed more then 3000 rds ,of assorted ammo through it. noooo jams nooo misfires, noooo nothing but perfection. i trust my family's protection with it. the only change i made was to sand down the grips as they were just a bit to thick for my gun hand {due to a wound } recieved in vn. the ria 45 is every bit as good as any. and as far as i'm concerned better then most

most 1911 style .45s are all the same......i have a springfield 1911 that i have never had a problem with, you have a rock island just the same.
the design has been pretty much the same since it was brought about, instead of bashing one brand in hopes of promoting another lets just agree that the 1911 style pistol is great |

Is that what happens when you get gas when you get older than 55?

The RIA 1911's are very underated, and a great deal if you're looking for an entry level 1911.
