Any experiences, good or bad, with the Springfield EMP?

I'm considering selling a couple of guns in order to pick up a good 1911-type carry gun. I'm okay with the 9mm chambering, mainly due to ammo prices and the fact the I know the round will do its work when placed properly. I just want to know what others' experiences with the EMP have been, as it's on the top of my "might buy" list.

I was considering picking one up as well but figured it was too much loot for a CC piece. From the research I've done, people with them on the board love them. I've found a few cases online where some were having FTF problems during the break-in period but afterwards they were fine.

Also take a look at the Para Hawg 9. Same dimensions I think and a little cheaper.

I got mine last July and have no issues with it. I alternate between the EMP and XD9SC for my carry weapon. I also heard the stories of some FTF issues after I bought mine, but have not experinced any.

Love the way it shoots.

Would you say that the quality and reliability are worth the price tag? I've handled one in the store and it felt great in my hand, better than any other micro I've handled. I just want to make sure due diligence is done on my part before I take the plunge.

The EMP is an awesome little pistol. I've got about 500 rounds through mine, no jams. The only issue I've had with it was the slide not locking back on empty. Happened twice. It's really small and comfortable to wear with the right holster and it's amazingly accurate. No complaints. Plus, it looks great.

I would definitely get one but its too expensive for a CCW pistol. Heaven forbid if you actual use it and it gets confiscated.

My thoughts are that what are the chances of it happening in relationship to you carrying it everyday? Over the lifetime of usage, how much is an extra $500 when its something you want to carry and makes you carry it easier?

Same thoughts are for holsters, if it works for you and feels comfortable, why not spend some extra $ for something you use for several years to come.

just my $.02

BTW going to get an EMP this spring
The reality of the matter is you never know when its going to happen. that's why you carry everyday right? The EMP is a good gun and a nice size but its not the best. There are quite a few out there with similar capabilities that cost 3x less.I really wouldn't compare this to holsters. Your average or custom leather IWB holster runs 80 tops. I've never seen one for over 100 whereas the EMP is twice the price of a G26 or three times the price of the Kel-Tecs.

I love mine. Yes when the EMP first came out they had some problems feeding ammo.I had one of the first ones Serial # under 800. Mine had trouble feeding HP. I stuck with it and deside to wait to the break in period was over. Once I hit the 500 round mark, I didn't have any other problems. It would feed any HP and range ammo I feed it.
