Joe,
It will work. You will have to relieve the inside of the grip around the bottom screw hole boss on the inside of each grip slightly to accommodate the thickness of the tang the mag-well ears. If this is not done, the grip will flare out at the bottom and look ugly. It may require some filing to smooth transition between it and the existing magwell as well. Another alternative would be the following: http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/sto...le=MAG%20GUIDE I put one in for a buddy. Very simple, but you will need to remove the main spring from your other backstrap in insert into the new one (watch your eyes). The mag well will need to be filed to smooth the transition with the existing magwell and overall fit up. Very simple work. I recommend stainless so you can polish and not worry about rebluing. If you do need to re-blue, cold blue works OK, but it is better to have a black oxider or a smith drop it in their tank for durability. I know a place that has a $40 min that can do the whole gun (AB Plating in Portland Oregon). Shipping is kind of a pain because it should go between FFLs, and the black oxide house doesn't have one--stainless is much easier. Hope that helps. |

Are the Brownells better? They are a bit($) more that the WC magwell. Also is the install as easy as the WC, it just seems easier to me the two grip screws than the other w/ the spring and such(brownells).
P.s. would I install the magwell(Mison Combat) on the frame side of the lasergrip spacer or the grip side of the spacer? I think I like that one pretty good but not set in stone yet. Every body Join in, anyone used these 2 items what do you think was was your experience? Thanks JOE>
