Best position for 1911 in IWB Holster?
I just got a Comp-Tac MTAC holster for my commander 1911 bobtail. It like the only place where is actually fits comfortably is at about 6 o'clock...right in the small of my back. I've positioning it 3-4 o'clock, but it just feels too big and bulky there. Does anyone else carry theres at 6 o'clock? The only problem that I have with it is that it's hard to get to, and hard to holster.
Here is a pic. ![]() |

I can post pics tomorrow.. It felt weird to me when i first started doing it, but it was the only place I could carry without it printing. I dont see how people carry on their sides without it printing...
Immagine wearing a belt.. The rear sight of my gun it right beside the belt buckle.. I hope that helps to tell where it is.. When i started wearing this way, it poked into both my stomach and my leg, now i miss it when i cant carry.. |

I carry my Para C7-45 at 4 to 4:30 in a Tucker Cover Up (IWB) and it is comfortable all day.

No printing. The key is wearing the right shirts. I usually wear untucked tee shirts or hawaiian style shirts...if I tuck it with a dress type shirt, there is enough bunched up just above the belt that it does not print.
Sorry, no pics at this time. I am just under 5'9" and a skosch over 200 lbs. When I first started carrying I was really self conscious about carrying, but the more I carry, the more I realize that no one is paying attention. I figure between my cell phone, a leatherman tool on my belt, etc...no one gives a second look. (except for other gun guys)
