What do you guys think of RIA

I'm now in the market for a 1911, well i will be by summer time and i'm doing all the research now so i can make a purchase i'm happy with. I want the most basic 1911 you can find, i read a good write up on the RIA ones can anyone give me some pros and cons?

For me, there hasn't been any "cons". The gun has worked right from the box, and the customer service is becoming legendary.
It's finished well, it's accurate and has a decent trigger. A good entry-level pistol.

For the price, probably the most decent
1911 on the market. Me bought two, just
in case I needed spare parts. One is still
NIB occupying space on the bottom shelf
of one of Bud's safes.

Buy: **** out of *****.

No first-hand experience, but I have a friend who owns both a Colt and an RIA, and when you compare the tightness and fitting of the RIA to the Colt, it's surprisingly good. The trigger is also nice, requiring a minimum of fluff-and-polish to make it smooth. I second the opinions that it's the best-kept secret in low-cost 1911's on the planet.

RIA is awesome.
Incredible comfort, accuracy and unbeatable value.
Customer service is best in industry.
Consider springing the extra for the Tactical- novak cut sights, target trigger and hammer, beavertail grip, and ambi safety.

I agree...For the small price difference, the Tac carries a lot of extras.

Talking

The RIA Tactical is the best value on the market, if you want a shooter or carry piece. For resale and bragin', "pony" up the extra and get a Colt. If you shoot the Colt better than the Rock, you're a better shot than I.

I love my RIA. Got it at a great price and had Springer Precision do some work for me. Got a fully pimped out 1911 for way less than if I had gone the Kimber or Dan Wesson route.
