Price Check - Dan Wesson PM-7

I found a NIB Dan Wesson Pointman 7 in .45 acp, stainless, adjustable sights in a local dealer's store for $699. Is this an absolute steal?

I saw a new one on GunsAmerica.com for $895. I saw another up for auction on GunBroker for $744.95. Any suggestions? I'm possibly in the market for a 1911 but I was looking more at a Springer GI to start with, which they also had a parkerized 5" for $449. I didn't look at the price of the stainless model. They also had a Springer 5" MilSpec stainless for $699, same price as the Dan Wesson.

Any recommendations?

It's the convincing the wife part that may pose a challange...

I'm trying to get her to see that it's for her to shoot. Well, sort of for her, but for me too, if you catch my drift.

I really like the vertical serations on the slide on the GI models...

I know that. I'm wondering whether I should buy it or not.

Sorry, that was my point - my little form of encouragement. Great price.

The wife said it'd be ok, but she wants to get through Christmas shopping first. Hopefully it's still there. I wonder if they'll do a lay-away deal for me.

I came across a steal on a used DW Pointman Major 7 last year and snapped it up. I've noticed that they basically go for atleast $800 to $1000 bucks new. So yeah, $699 is a good deal.

I like mine, but I wish it didn't have the target adjustable rear sights, but instead the regular type. Hope you can get it!!

Are you sure this was a Pointman 7 and not a Pointman Major? Sure it was NIB? That gun is valued at $1000 NIB and $750 in Exc condition.... what gun store was this again?
