Possible extractor issue...

If the woman who sold me my Kimber Compact Stainless II is to be believed (as per my last thread), I'm still in the break-in phase on this firearm. Probably around 175 rounds.

The issue is that ejected shells are landing anywhere from my 2 o'clock to hitting me in the forehead. Could this be an extractor problem, or is it related to break-in, or should I not worry? Ammo is CCI Blazer Brass, if that matters... Thanks for your time,

Dave

Yes the extractor could need adjustment or there could be a burr. First check the fit of the firing pin stop. It should fit snug but not tight in its cut out and should not allow the extractor to pivot more than a couple of degrees "clocking" . Go to www.1911.com and check the thread on adjusting a extractor in the how to section.

Thanks bigun, you have all the answers. Maybe I should just PM you with any future problems I may have!
