Scott at Springer
Has anyone had Scott do work on their 1911? I am considering sending in my RIA for a trigger job and some new sights.

Not a 1911, but he has worked on mine, and gets 100% high reviews on this forum, can't imagine you would not like his work. I have spoke direct to him numerous times, he is top notch!!!

he seemed really good when i spoke to him a few times about doing an older Armscor. he actually recommended that i not put any money into it because the whole thing was cast and would likely end up needed lots of metal work once he started in on it. he saved me a lot of money, which in turn, cost him a lot. very professional, i thought.
when a gunsmith adds sights, they bench it right?

I had Scott do reliability, trigger, tuning work on my SA EMP and he did a stellar job and quick turnaround as always.
When he's done sights, he's zeroed when I've asked. Don't think thats standard for gunsmiths on sight installs. I had a local guy install sights before - which was obviously not benched so it cost me quite a bit to fix - now no one touchs my SAs except for Scott. But if they know their guns, which Scott does, then they'll put the right ones on.

Not a 1911; but Mr. Scott Springer did an action job on a co-workers
9m'm XD 4" service model; reducing the weight to 2-1/4 lbs; and I'm here to tell you, its really nice but very costly- to the tune of $175.
