I don't see to many around...is there a reason why? Is it bad? or it is just personal preference? Post some pics if you have some, I'm planning on getting one soon. thanks

I don't have a digital camera handy or photos but I do have a stainless GI and love it. Great shooter...accurate and utterly reliable.
I was not looking for a Springer at all, when I stumbled across it, brand new, at a gun shop. I was totally impressed that a basic 1911 like this could be so well put together - the fit and finish was first rate. Very tight slide to frame fit...it was like the fit and finish you see on Colts or higher end 1911s, not basic models. So for 439 bucks...I took it home. That was five years ago. To this day, it is still a very good shooter and will group like my Colts. Very reliable too. I'd never part with it. The only work I have done to it is smoothing up the internals and adding a set of Wilson cocobolo grips. I also use Wilson 47D magazines, but all my 1911s have these magazines. I love the way it looks and handles. If you want one...I give the stainless GI two thumbs up..go get it! - Brickboy240

I bought it from Tomball Pawn and Gun. They're at FM 2920 and 249 up in Tomball. My family has been buying from those guys for a very long time. They have fantastic prices and a very good selection. If they don't have it...they'll get it for you.
Those guys make it very hard for me to buy guns anywhere else. They are a big Springfield dealer and most guys are serious shooters and know alot about guns. Skip Gander Mtn. and Carters and take the drive out there...you'll be glad you did. They take price in beating the other's gun prices. - Brickboy240

The worst has to be Collector Firearms. Go there to look...but who actually buys anything there? Their prices are insane, but I guess they have to pay very high rent for being on the Richmond strip.

If you want a step up from the GI you might look into the Mil-Spec. I have a Stainless Steel Mil-Spec and the sights are much better for me than the GI sights. Probably my old eyes. Anyway, enjoy your search for a gun.
