Angry Colt 1911 Commander for $200?

I have to vent my anger so i figured i would do it here, my Grandfather recently died. My Grandmother asked if i wanted his firearms and i said sure, when i went to pick them up my Grandfathers Colt 1911 was missing when i inquired as to where it went my Grandmother told me a supposed family friend told her the firearm really wasn't worth any thing but he would pay her the premium price of $200 dollars for the gun.

My Grandmother being in her late 80s, not knowing anything about firearms and thinking a family friend wouldn't screw her over sold this scum bag the gun. She thought she was doing me a favor and i could use the cash because this dirt bag said he was paying premium for the gun.

Needless to say she was in tears when i told her what the gun was really worth. That dirt bag took advantage of an old woman who just lost her husband and he knows it. Id like to ring this bastards neck but its not worth me going to jail over.

P.S. I misspelled commander in the title have no clue how to fix it (Done)

I think I'd pay him a visit anyway...and at least let him know what a phucking loser he is...and maybe guilt him into selling it back.

You cannot legislate morality, and banning inanimate objects will never substitute for personal responsibility. Banning and limiting things merely makes them profitable to criminals via laws of supply and demand.

Man! That just... GRRR! People like that piss me off to no end. And there's really nothing you can do is the clincher.

You know - maybe you should suggest he used the money he saved stealing that gun to take a vacation in Florida. I have this friend who's about 10 foot long who just LOVES to meet people like them - matter o' fact, you could say he's green with envy over what them people done.

'cause hanging's too good fer him...

I'd pay him a visit with the $200 and tell him he should be ashamed of his deed. And if he doesn't take the money and return the pistol, you will publish his actions in the local newspaper "Man Preys on Elderly Widow".

I'd be as pissed as that wolf in your avitar. Personally, I'd want to pay this "friend" a visit. Just to let him know what a POS he is.

I agree with R dub on this take the high road. I hade a situation just like this on some items that belonged to my great grandfather.

I would confront him maybe even with another witness so he can not claim any threats. Then if he does not want to rectify what he has done spend the money to ensure everyone knows what a sorry sack of Sh_t he is!

Good luck let us know what the outcome is.

Well, if there is no Bill of Sale you could report it stolen. After that you can imagine what to do next. I saw that on a movie once.
