Finished Colt... :flamesuiton:
My colt is finished.. I decided on a color and had it refinished... The whole thing has been polished and deep blued.. The smith that did it does amazing work.. I know that it resembles a kimber, but its still a colt.. The traditionalists are ready to kill me now, but here it is finished.. The inlay work is real silver..

Too bad the kimber costs more than the colt most of the time too. . . It's my opinion that all red blooded Americans should own a colt 1911 of one sort or another. Of all my guns, my colt is the most beloved; it holds sentimental and historical value that is worth more than any amount of money you could imagine. And I can chase a gatorade bottle up a hill at 35 yards(at least) with it. There are a lot of really good companies making 1911's these days but it's really hard to go wrong with a colt. BTW that colt looks great, might I ask what the finish looked like before it was redone?

Here it is before the finish... It was brand new, the only reason for doing it was that the rear frame had to be cut to install the bevertail..
