My colt is finished.. I decided on a color and had it refinished... The whole thing has been polished and deep blued.. The smith that did it does amazing work.. I know that it resembles a kimber, but its still a colt.. The traditionalists are ready to kill me now, but here it is finished.. The inlay work is real silver..

Too bad the kimber costs more than the colt most of the time too. . . It's my opinion that all red blooded Americans should own a colt 1911 of one sort or another. Here it is before the finish... It was brand new, the only reason for doing it was that the rear frame had to be cut to install the bevertail..
