Hi guys here is my newest 1911, Rock Island Armory Tactical model, got it yesterday via trade of my other 1911, came with one mag but the guy agreed to throw in a chipmccormick power mag and a wilson combat mag too..did the paper work, drove as fast as legally possible to the range, it took me 10 mins (new record for me)starting from target set up at 15 yds to finishing 50rds using my 3mags and yes i also picked up all my brass..I pulled the trigger as fast as i can reload..and i did not have a single problem, straight from the box..here are the pics..

Not a bad little 1911 them RIA's. Looks like you were shooting all over the place. Lets see how she groups when you take some time and aim... What kinda price are they running now??? Back when I was big in the 1911 game I could have gotten one for 350.00. Might have to do something with this SA mil spec that has been a safe queen, since I have yet to spend a dime on it to do anything with...

Where'd you get it? And how much? I've recently decided the RIA tactical is the 1911 I want for my first one.
It seems that it comes out of the box with everything I'd put on a GI if I could, but it's only $40 more expensive than the RIA GI. I can still tinker with it if I want to, but I don't HAVE to in order to make it what I want. Not only that, RIA's have been reputed to shoot as well as or better than some SA 1911 GIs (I recognize this is probably the operator rather than the pistol, but it is encouraging), the RIA's tend to be pretty reliable, and they're made by the same manufacturer as STI 1911s which are quite nice machines. Does everyone agree? Sound like I've made the right choice? joe
