Man that gun shoots really crappy, You should send it to me so you don't shoot like that anymore...

Have you had any issues with it? What ammo are you feeding that beast? I am going to one of the big fun stores in Phoenix area this weekend, I might have to fondle one. If I wasn't planning to move back to Ga in the next few months I would be all over one...Will have to get one when I get back to GA

Not only that, RIA's have been reputed to shoot as well as or better than some SA 1911 GIs (I recognize this is probably the operator rather than the pistol, but it is encouraging), the RIA's tend to be pretty reliable, and they're made by the same manufacturer as STI 1911s which are quite nice machines.

Does everyone agree? Sound like I've made the right choice?

RIAs are good guns. If its a reasonably priced 1911 you want. RIA is it.
And it does shoot as well as my Springfield Milspec.

Great looking little piece. I heard those McCormick mags are hit or miss literally. I guess some of them just don't fit the guns they're made for correctly. My cousin has had problems with them in his Kimber. Hopefully you gotta good one senor.

Happy Shooting.

I have a RIA 1911 as well, with 1050 rounds thru the tube. Never had any problems with performance. Good choice.

RIA is made in the Philippines. The irony of it is that it was designed by John Browning to be used against Filipino Moros (muslims) back in the early 1900s.

i thought it was more of a need for a replacement pistol that was more effective against the moros,...

either way i love my RIA 1911

Is that $399 msrp or what you paid for it??? Honestly, I had never heard of RIA until I started reading stuff here but, for the price and quality that have been spoken of I might just have to pick one up. Just one more question though, any warranty????? Thanks.

Redtree yes they a have a pretty good warranty , If you go to www.m1911.org and go to the section for rock island armory and look for the handle IVAN or LVSHOOTER, both of them is the Rep for RIA and they will fix-up what ever problem you hare having, they have the best customer service by far, they are both active member of that forum..And one of my dealer has a Rock Island tactical for 440 shipped, PM me if you want one..
