Bitone Loaded Lightweight or Kimber.....

Local gun shop has a loaded bitone lightweight for under 800 (closer to 700) And I am seriously considering making it my own. Does anybody have any experience with one?

Yeah, I owned on.
I sold it to a coworker...and now I'm bugging the piss out of him to sell it back to me! Seller's remorse.
Mine was a nice shooter and problem-free.

That I don't know.

I do like SA's ramped barrel use for aluminum frames vs Kimber's non-ramped. In a SA gun, you can use whatever mags you want (I like CMC PowerMags, which are not always good in a Kimber aluminum gun).
Regards

I will probably end up getting the SA. Because, it has a nearly Identical feed ramp to the XD and My xd will eat ANYTHING! Plus, a decent 1911 for under 800 with springers warranty... What do I have to lose? Besides more ammo....

I've got the BiTone loaded operater Lt. Wgt it came with the XML light and mag carrier and holster ( kydex ) it has become my everyday carry now for summer I put it in a Don Hume 715 I think made for a XD as it has the light rail and put it in the front pocket of my jeans with the clip over the pocket and cover it with a t-shirt works great for summer.

Yak, certain types of steel followers (like the Devel-type found in the Powermags) have been known to slide forward and gouge the aluminum frame/feedramped guns (like Kimber).
This does not happen all the time, but it can. There is a sticky about this over at www.1911forum.com in the Kimber section (2nd one down).

SA's fully-ramped barrel prevents this.

I have a Kimber ProCarry that I love.
I have Powermags and happen to think they are some of the best 8 rounders out there.
I just don't use the two together...I use round-top MecGars for the ProCarry.

If you're not having a problem, I wouldn't worry about it.
If you are having problems, you'll see the gouges in your feedramp.
Regards
