Springfield Grips

I'm looking into getting a SA 1911 A1 Loaded Parkerized. The only problem I have with it is the thickness of the hardwood grips. The first 1911 I ever shot was a WWII Remington, and the GI plastic was nice and thin and fit my hands perfectly. Are the Springfield black plastic grips as thin as the WWII GI grips? If not, who makes a good thin grip for a fair price? I'm going to drop $900 for the gun, and I'd like to stay within $50 for the grips.

Check out their new slimline grips. I've had these before and really liked them. $49.95 for their standard checkered, including slimline.

Smile

Kimber makes a set of thin rubber grips and probably Hogue as well, the standard Kimber rubber grips are pretty thin in my hands.

Probably OT but related...

What about those of us with monster hands?

Someone at the Hite Hollow Range in VA was nice enough to let me squeeze off 8 rounds from his single-stack 1911.

It was nice, but the grip felt a bit too skinny for me.

Would a double-stack 1911 be a better bet for me?
