I almost bought one this past weekend at Dick's, but it wasn't in my budget. Enjoy!

You will like it , I just sold one of mine for another project I'm doing and the guy says it shoots better than one of his Kimbers and while the finish is thin I agree that they do shoot great, the one I kept has over 3000 rds thru it and will dropp the steel plates at 50 yds every time.

My 1st range report..

Hi guys just wanted to share my first range outing with this new pt1911, did probably close to 100rds ,i did 50rds of cci blazer and my friend atleast 50rds.This gun shoots very well, accurate than some of other 1911s that i shot before but the only thing that is a little weird is it had atleast 4 misfeeds on every other mag on the last round..my friend who was a ret leo even used his mag that he uses for his own ccw for his kimber and had one or 2 misfeed. here are some vids and my 1st target pic..

me shooting and had the misfeed.

Those new grips look great! I have a PT1911 with about 200 rnds and have not had any problems.
This is my first 1911 pistol so I do not know what to look for when failures start to happen.

I came close to buying one of those Taurus PT1911s, but found the Springfield Mil-Spec I've been searching for awhile now. Congrats!

I think Taurus does make a handsome black 1911. Your feed problems are EXACTLY the same as I had with my PT92. I took the Taurus mag apart and noticed the top portion of the springs were "progressive" (close windings up top then larger at the bottom). Didnt seem to have the pressure needed to feed that last round 2 Mec-Gar replacements SOLVED that problem.........solid, thick springs! Try some different mags, that FTF is gonna worry you until you fix it.

How could you read my mind like that! I have been looking at other 1911s but due to auto repairs, will not be getting any new firearms for a while. Thanks for the m1911.org link, I will be spending some time there now!
