Picked up a USED Charles Daly MS-1911 Today

As I have said in the past I am a very bad impluse buyer, or rather I would like to think I make good Impulse buys, but it depends on who is telling the story, me or my wife. Today I picked up this MS-1911 (Short barrel), used, I think I got a good deal but its all relative is it not? $425 out the door, made in 2001, if this thing has had a hundred rounds down the tube I would be surprised.....

Comments welcome.

I would say you got a good buy. CDs are hi priced guns. And that one looks to be in good shape.
Way to go. You could probably sell it at a profit if you did some home work.

good deal

sounds like a good deal, i recently bought the same model, paid $500 for mine. unfortunately, the barrel split after 150 rounds. Charles Daly has chosen not to honor their warranty. hope you have better luck than i did. you know the old saying, "you get what you pay for"....or not!!!

good luck

I do not consider CD 1911's to be high priced pistols. The nice thing is it is a 1911, so if you need parts they are easy to come by.

It looks nice, but how does it shoot?

range time will be Monday. had to go to an out of town wedding today so I could not make it to the range.
Regarding the warrenty situation, I was aware that this Model and many others are in the grey area with CD becasue of thier breakaway with Amcor / RIA any longer so if it craps the bed I will not get upset. As has been pointed out already the parts for a complete rebuild if neccessary are easily found and I am fairly confident that most issues I can handle and what I can't my local gun smith can at a reasonable price. I will post the performance as I test it out.
I don't consider a CD to be a hign end 1911 eitehr but I am pretty happy with it at this point and to me that is whats important

hmm nice, bushingless barrel is kind of strange but it's a nice looking gun. I have owned a charles daly 1911 before and it was a sweet shooter.

Took her to the range and danced with her for 75 rounds,Flawless and at 14 yards as accurate as I would expect. Why the guy gave this baby up I have no idea but I am glad he did.

Took me a while to get her dialed in

I am totaly happy with her..now if I could get a break on ammo...

i would have been very tempted on a low round mint CD for $425 and i am not looking hard for a 1911. But if one of that value falls in my lap you will see a post with me showing it off. Good fair deal. Good looking piece.
