If you get the GI and don't like the sights, Springfield will sell you the Mil-Spec 3 dot sights for around 15-20 bucks and they go right on. Do a light trigger group polish and get some Wilson mags and you'll be amazed at how good that thing shoots!
None of my 3 1911s have the Mil-Spec's flared ejection port and work just fine, so i saw no need to pay more for a flared ejection port. I put the difference in the Gi and Mil-Spec's pricing into a trigger job and the sights.

I only have one 1911 45 and that is the Milspec I bought from invssgt over a year ago. SA gave him a SS TRP barrel since the original stock one was damaged, so that's nice. He also included a match bushing, wood grips and the GI trigger.
I love the gun and it is much more accurate than I am with it. Here is a link to it when it was still his (he posted this when the M1911 forum first began. http://www.thesixgunjournal.net/milspec.html Last edited by retired; 05-17-2007 at 02:38 AM. |

I carry a GI. I wish I would have saved just a little more and got a Mil-specs. That been said I've never had a problem with it
