Springfield TRP - What's the scoop?

Our range has one in the case. Last two or three times I've been up there, it has been calling my name, LOUDLY.

Guy behind the counter even offered to let me shoot his.

Please tell me it's a rotten handgun, lousy trigger and inaccurate. Anything else, and I might have to bring it home.

I swear, the one I looked at today winked at me. The only thing I don't like is the chrome/stainless barrel bushing.

Someone has to talk me out of this. Help a brother out.

Just think......a few months tweeking, and it will be as reliable as an XD. Well, and a trip to a gunsmith.

I've got a 4" XD ACP, I like it. Something about a 1911 just makes me warm all over (without wetting myself).

I'm doing my gun buying for the year next month.

A PTR, AR (probably a Bushy), Kahr for my wife and the TRP.

I've been a staunch P7 shooter for quite awhile now and I never really took 1911s seriously as it always seemed like every class I took there was some poor sap with his 1911 choking every other mag. Then a buddy of mine let me shoot his Wilson Professional and I became intrigued....it subsequently became mine. I ended up trading it in another P7 transaction. It was a great pistol but never really carried it or did any drills with it. A little over a week ago I picked up a TRP. I've put 300 rounds through it with different mags and ammo and I must say I'm impressed. Not a single hitch. I was so impressed I have a Springfield Pro on the way. I don't think it will supplant my M13 but it may become my pack gun and see some carry time. You should give one a try .

That's what I like so much about the TRP, it doesn't need a trip to the gunsmith as it already comes with a match barrel, extra wide mag well, night sights and the trigger is already tuned.....sweet. I've had no problems at all, so its been as reliable as my XD-45 and G19. Of course it shoots better groups than the XD or Glock.

Trp

Well, I just paid for my TRP today along with the XD Compact. Won't take them home until next week. The TRP is beautiful, tight, and what a trigger. This is the place I buy all my guns from, and they had nothing but positive things to say about the TRP.

I have the XD SubCompact and it is has not had one single issue of any kind in 700 rounds. I'm a SA believer.

Oh by the way, please don't tell my wife. Thanks
