Aaawww, I wish you hadn't done that. I've been perfectly satisfied carrying my Kimber all these years, never even really being tempted ...
And now you have to show me this! |

Sweet gun!
I got an XSE SS Commander a while back. Most accurate 1911 out-of-the-box I have owned. One thing you might want to do is get a replacement mainspring housing to replace the crappy plastic one Colt puts on there. The one that was on my Officer's ACP cracked at the pin that holds the plunger in. Ed Brown makes a nice checkered one.

Nice Colt!
Don't you love the size, weight and feel of an all steel Commander? Its just about right...not too heavy, but not too light as to give you real flippish muzzle rise when shooting. Just enough grip...not short like the Officers size grip frame. I have a 1973 Combat Commander in satin nickle with the checkered walnut grips with gold Colt medallions. I can see why you like the Commander. I love mine. Its deadly accurate, too. I hope your cycles better than mine did. I had to do some spring swapping and put a Wilsons ejector and extractor in to make it fly right. I have heard the newer Colts are better about reliability than the old ones. - Brickboy240
