Concealable
The thread that shows the terminal ballistics of the 9mm, 40 and 45 and the size of the EMP/Hawg got me wondering. At the current time I carry a .45 micro compact. I compared it to my service XD .40 and the XD is maybe a half inch longer at its longest point and is actually thinner at its thickest point. The 1911 is thickest at the grip which is the part that will stick out above the waist of a IWB holster. The XD also weighs less and carries 12+1. So your getting almost twice the ammo, unless you use wilson's 7rders. The terminal performance is about the same or better than the .45 and it should conceal just as easy.
So only comparing XDs and 1911 style pistol's which would you carry on a daily basis IWB. I'm talking total concealment. OWB holsters won't work and must have a shirt tucked in also. I've been leaning towards the Micro compact XD and perhaps a 5.11 undershirt with the pockets under the arms. I've heard first hand that these can conceal up to a comander style 1911 easily and with the service and SC XD's being smaller and lighter that might be an option.

I used to carry a ParaOrd P13 Alloy (double stack, 13rnd, 1911 Commander style pistol) every single day for about 3-4 years. My girlfriend at the time would be shocked if she hugged me and felt it, because it was practically invisible on me...including the 2 extra mags I always carried. I'm not a huge guy, but not a small one either (6'2" & 200lbs). I carried it over my right kidney, with a forward cant. Even in a T-shirt and shorts, you couldn't see it.

So I'm guess you always bent at the knees right?

I usually don't "bend over"
Actually, I wore a T-shirt inside, then a longer T-shirt or regular shirt untucked. Or a jacket that came down to the bottom of my jean pockets.

My friend, it sounds like you haven't experienced slimline grips. Several brands are available, though I gravitate toward VZ. I'm not sure they make some for the Micro Compact frame, but I'll bet someone does. They make all the difference. I traded a service XD for a Government 1911 and it's 100% easier to conceal due to the thinner frame. I still love my XD for popping steel plates, but I'll never carry it regularly again.
A Micro Compact or Lightweight Champion will be my next handgun purchase.

Steel my friend , you can conceal a cat in your pants if you really try....if you can not hit a man in 7-8 rounds you still need to practice a lot.....get my drift? Floyd

I carry my XD9SC, but no longer or rarely carry my XD45, which is now primarily home defense gun w/ attached X200. Primarily due to concealability issues. Definitely found the 1911s easier to conceal due to its slimmer profile. I carry both 5" and 4" 1911s, and both conceal more easily than my XD45.
