Taurus 1911
Has anyone shot the new Taurus 1911? It looks like it offers a lot of value for the money. It almost seems too good to be true. That's what has me feeling a bit cautious. Could someone really build a great performing 1911 for less than $600 bucks?

Good question, GW. That is a great looking pistol. If it's the same quality as my Taurus Tracker it's got to be a good gun.

i own one and it shot flawless the first time i shot it. i mixed 2 different types of jhp ammo and some fmj and feed everything no problem at all. i had a problem with the reassemble of it though. after putting 350 rounds through it i field stripped it and cleaned it and it didnt want to go back together any way or how. i sent it back to taurus and am waiting to hear what has happened to it. my problem is the only incident of this happening that i hace heard on any forum so far. oh and i would get it refinished cause to me its not very strong.

500 rounds so far and so great!
No problems - just pure joy to shoot!

Got one couldn't be happier with it. It handles anything I run thru it and has become my carry piece when I go that big replacing a Kimber and a Colt. In almost 2000 rds. it has not jammed or anything the finish leaves somethings to be desired but that can be fixed rather cheap. ( Under 200.00 ) When they release the 1911C in stainles I will buy one.

My son's has been great. Just no snob appeal. I think I'll get the SS when they come out this summer.

yes i was talking about the finish being very fragile. i think the finish on the first blued xds is stronger than this and every one knows how many problems they had.
