Need help deciding on kimber

Hello, Just wanted to get some opinions on 2 different kimber 45's I am considering buying. I have the chance to purchase a used pre series 2. Stainless gold match for $975.00 which appears to be in very good shape. The other is a limited edition series 2-kimber-target match for $1050.00 and this gun is new and only 1000 were made. The reason I am asking for any opinions is that I have heard that the series 2 kimbers have had some quality control issues.
Anyone owns either of these kimbers that have experience with either I would greatly appreciate your input.
Thanks in advance.

Kimber

I have a Tactical Pro 9mm and find it to be a very good gun.
I have read some people have has issues with ftf & ftl, but this has happend to me only with cheap ammo.
There's a M1911 forum you might find helpful.
Good luck.

I've had 9 Kimbers in the past, and they've been the Series I. Never had any problems with them.

Here is my first target shot from my new kimber target match. There is 2 clips fired into that targer @ 15 yards at the shooting range using WW hard ball. "This gun shoots great" it's not even settled in yet and shoots very good, I am very happy.......
