I sense trouble already...

I just got a Kimber Stainless II for a good deal, slightly used. Just shot 50 rounds yesterday, and I'm in love. The 1911 is now my gun luv. I'm trying to become a LEO. If that happens, I will celibrate with a new duty 1911. Should I get the Kimber TLE in Black or get the STI Trojan? I know nothing of STI so just thought I would ask.
Thanks
DaFunk

Just make sure that you can carry a 1911. Some departments and/or acadamies won't let you. I know in Kansas the Range Master won't let you have them

Yes, they can be addicting.

As Glxo stated, you had better check before you go. I know the Academy here will not allow single action firearms (1911's and such). I picked up a really nice Kimber this way. Gent bought a Kimber TLE before going to there, never shot it, and then had to get something else.

If your department won't allow a single action, consider the Para Ordnance LDA series. The Light Double Action trigger is schweeeeetttt!

AND- you'll pick it up for less than either of the two you mentioned.

ETA: AND- YES! You will become addicted. There is something about the 1911 style that is very attractive...it is a smooth shooter, there are great options for customizing is desired, etc. Good luck, and don't look for a 12 step program, just go with it!

Oops

Meant the Sti Spartan. Sorry for the Confusion. Spartan goes for 660 MSRP and the Kimber TLE goes for around 900. Like my XDs, but now love the 1911's.

Search this area for a thread or two on the Spartan...not sure it is all the gun that the other STI's are...but the price would tell you that.

I don't think they are bad, but not the American made units the other STI's are.
