guide rod put in backward?
I have little experience with 1911. Can the full length guide rod be installed backward, and if so, what damage does it do to the gun?
Thanks, John |

Proper way is flat end on the guide rod and cut-off end in the retainer cap.

I only have one 1911 with a FLGR. A Springfield Loaded. That guide rod has to be screwed together with an allen wrench. I've never tried to screw it together THEN put it in. Can it even be done?
Now I'm curious. Off to the safe... |
