OK Guys, ordered the .22 conversion from Wilson Combat today for my SA 1911. On a different note, i ordered a couple .45acp mags for the 1911 from Wilson a couple weeks ago and they seem to be a lot better finished than the factory mags from Springfield....the factory mags have sharp edges on the underside of the feed lips, you can hear them scraping the brass when inserting rounds, where the Wilson's are smooth. Both feed into the barrel ok though.

Wilsons are the #1 choice for competition mags, with Chip McCormick's #2 and Factory mags third....

Great News! I received my .22 conversion from Wilson Combat today for the 1911. It is made by Marvel and it dry fit perfectly, took a whole 30 seconds to install it...the finish is superb and the black looks pretty nice against the polished lower end of the trophy match 1911. This Saturday will be it's trial with the recommended ammo, and I can hardly wait. It is going to save a ton of money during plinking time and my wife is going love to shoot the heck out of it too...Marvel says accuracy is 1" @50yds in a gunrest....holy cow!

.22 conversion

I have a Kimber 22 conversion that I use on My Kimber Custom, And my Springfield loaded model. It works great but does not like some of the cheaper ammo out there.

I have a Kimber .22 conversion I use on a Brazilian-license 1911. Had problems with it until I swapped out mainsprings. I'm building it up as a "competition gun" for the .22 matches we have in my area, and it's working out fairly well.

whoa!

I got to the range yesterday with the Marvel .22 conversion atop my 1911...it worked beautifully. It is a lot of fun to shoot with that small round as accurate and cheap as it is. I used the CCI mini-mag ammo recommended by Marvel and it cycled just fine. Accuracy seemed good, I put 6 out of 7 shots in a 1 1/2" circle at 25 yds. with the butt of the gun resting on the shooting table, I even pumped some into the center of a 6" circle at 50 yds. there didn't seem to be much vertical drop at that distance. After a bunch of mini-mags I ran some WalMart Remington Golden Bullet through and they fired a lot dirtier than the minis and caused some FTLs but generally they worked fine for plinking purposes. I also fired my XD 9mm Fire Dragon conversion to my XD .40 and it cycled 99% of the time and accuracy was same as the .40 barrel. Now I have 4 SA guns to chose from!

Kimber 22 kit

I have had my 22 Kimber kit for some time and have shot a lot of rounds threw it. I shoot it on my S/A TRP. And the Ammo. is a big thing with these kits. The cheap stuff will just not work. Buy the better stuff. I use CCI mini mags. and the CCI Blazers. Mine doesn't like STINGERS. It's something about them. I also stay away from Rem. also.

One each Marvel 22. Badass conversion. Frame is an old Vega 1911 frame. This gun has a 2lb trigger. I need to get rid of the arched mainspring housing, and adjust the grip safety some more.
