You mean like this:
Springfield 1911-A1 Mil-Spec 45 ACP Pistol 5" Barrel 7+1 - $589.99 shipped | Slickguns

or this?
Springfield Armory 1911 Mil-Spec Pistol .45 ACP 5in 7rd Parkerized Package - $589.99 + Free Shipping | Slickguns

Yeah, decent price. Now, figure out if a transfer fee is less than your state taxes.

Ha, nice. I even searched it and didn't find anything else close. At least now I know there's no pressure to jump on a deal.

Hey, I probably will.

But now my research has me debating between this and a loaded.

Spring for the loaded.

I love the classic mil spec looks but a loaded is a much more comfortable shooter.

I'll keep that in mind. Hopefully I'll be going to try each one on for size later today.

He's right, maybe I've been too spoiled with high sweeps but now when I grab a "GI" it just doesn't feel good.

I had a ss mil spec for awhile. Two things to note, they have a ils in the msh. No biggie, that can be swapped/disabled and sa uses a titanium proprietary firing pin. It's a different diameter than standard gi pin/ed brown offers steel replacement. Whats great is they have a forged frame, fit and finish was excellent on mine/tight. One thing I do like is that the mil spec doesn't have the front slide serrations which im not a big fan off. Great gun to start as a base for a custom. One other thing is I think the loaded has the dovetails already cut out in the slide which would offer more sight options, the milspec would have to be modified.

Yeah, I was reading about the sight options for the mill spec. Fortunately for me I could make the modifications as necessary and not have to worry about sending it off or getting shoddy work.

This is kind of a change of subject, but I've also found a slightly used Para Expert stainless for $525 from a private party. I'm doing research on it right now, but I figured I might as well ask you all what your opinions are for it.

EDIT: Pics
