Wilson Combat mags are certainly not my definition of generic mags, I have been looking at those as a matter of fact but have not acted on it; too expensive! For a price of one Wilson I could buy two Kimber factory ones.

The generic mags I meant are those that just say "1911 magazine" on the package without any reference of manufacturer. I got those mostly from gun shows or online stores like Cheaper than dirt or Sportsmans Guide.
Yeah, you can get 2 Kimber mags for the price of One wilson.. But your kimber mags will last 1/2 as long as the wilson and (in my gun) cause feed & extraction problems....

I own ONLY wilson's, the kimber mags that came in the box are STILL in the box after a range trip where I had to fix multiple FTF & FTE issues.

I say +1 for Wilson...

The magazine is more important to a 1911's reliability than most other firearms. From the countless 1911 discuissions I've had with competitors and those who carry 1911s, Wilson Combat seems to be the way to go.

Scroll through this search page and check out all the reviews of the Wilson mags. Lots of people won't carry anything else.

Thank you, sir!

Justin! What's up? You're going to enjoy the RIA 1911 .45acp, I know I did. I traded it for an XD9 Service, but missing it enough to where I am going to end up picking up another RIA 1911 here soon

As for the mags, as mentioned, if the mag is a Govt/full size mag, it should work, but you should go to the range and run some rds through it to check for reliability. 1911's are funny like that as one brand of mag will work work in one of my 1911's but hiccup like crazy in the other...go figure, eh?

There is only one 1911 mag I will have in my 3 1911s - the Wilson 47D.
