Here are right/left shots of a pistol I built from a Caspian frame/slide. It has Ed Brown internals and a Kart Ez-fit barrel. The finish is hard chrome by Virgil Tripp.

Thanks Knight, I learned so much about 1911's while building it. Most of all I learned to be patient.

I am glad you like the pistol. It was a fun project. Now i want to try my hand at a commander size pistol. Looking to do a commander with a ramped barrel in 9mm. Kinda like a "Kobra Carry" only in 9mm or maybe 38 super.

Here's a few of a 1918 1911.
Previous owner hard chromed it [ugghhh], but everything is original and matches, except for the WWII Ithaca mainspring housing.

She's wearing a set of Hakan Pek desert ironwood custom grips.

This is the new Springfield lightweight champion.
She's also wearing a set of Hakan's grips.

I have to say that spending the money on a custom built gun is definately worth the money. Heres my 2011 based on an STI frame. The other picture is my SA LW compact thats no longer made. I know its finish is getting rough but its a tool and is carried ALOT. In a few years when my step-son graduates high school, he will be getting a custom built 1911. His plans are to ener law enforcement and I think that would be a forever treasured gift for him.
