Shooting the Springfield Loaded - Need Advice - 1911 Video
I put my Springfield 1911 through its paces at the gun club Friday and I was pretty disappointed with how I did. I suspect it was a combination of factors: I had spent a good chunk before firing it, shooting my Glock 30. I have not had a good work out with my SA 1911 in a month or so.
But, I have to say, for whatever reason and I'm still not sure why, though I suspect it has mostly to do with sight picture differences, I consistently shoot my Ruger SR1911 more accurately.
Anyway, here's a video of the session, as always, I welcome your critiques and constructive criticism. I think I'm still getting too much finger on the trigger.

disclaimer I have never been accused of being nice on this forum.
you adjust your hands every shot, which means your hands are slipping each shot 100% left hand 100% right hand if you don't shoot a lot when your done your hands are going to be tired.
you blink every shot, I can't tell from the video but I imagine your flinching. do you even have ear pro in? can't see it. So double up on the ear pro, ear plugs and muffs.
You sound out of breath, either your terribly unhealthy out of shape, if so your more likely to die from that then getting mugged please go workout a bit. If your not usually sounding like that your freaking out a bit/getting beat up by your gun. Shoot more/do some strengthening stuff for your hands, and the double ear pro will help you relax and accept the recoil more.
Not terrible shooting. You need to spend some time dry firing I would surmise, and you need to make each shot a deliberate choice choosing to embrace the noise/recoil not expecting it and treating it like pain.
food for thought.
and consider putting some rougher grips on your gun so your hands don't slide quite so much, grenades they aren't comfortable holding but are actually more comfortable when firing.
never load with your right hand like that again. You just look silly and like your not comfortable with your gun (which your not, but you won't be comfortable with it until you start acting like you are) gun in firing hand load it correctly. Figure out how to not be adjusting every shot. I really think rougher grips will help, more shooting and hold on tighter and be pulling with your left and pushing with your right, don't let the left hand fingers slide around each shot.
if your sights bug you, change em.

Appreciate the feedback...couple obvious things: Yes, I had ear pro in, 33dB Howard Leight plugs, very comfortable. Breathing noises...I had my lavlier microphone a few inches from my mouth.
Appreciate the tips and suggestions.

I know thats why I could hear it but you sound like you just got hit in the chest your breathing ragged relax. Breathing fast. Maybe its just you were beat up from how long you were shooting if so, I imagine it will be very different next time. Some people get serious adrenaline spikes when shooting one of the ladies I was teaching yesterday did, cycled her off the line when she came back she was fine.

I got a good laugh out of this sentence.....
"Some people get serious adrenaline spikes when shooting one of the ladies I was teaching yesterday"
I would get a very serious adrenaline spike if I shot one of the ladies you teach.
LOL.

from just watching the first 30 seconds, and then further into the video, I think you need to work on your grip.
your support hand should "cant" downward more, almost like a 45 degree angle and your thumb should run parallel to the slide. Also, squeeze your support hand around your shooting hand. Seems like your grip is not very tight, hence your grip is loosening with each shot. Get much more side-side pressure with your support hand and your recoil will be minimized and therefore you grip will remain intact.

Shooting a 1911..
Agreed, with yocan...
Better grips will help with shooting, a fermer grip will steady the 1911 for follow up shots.
I have the same gun, I've tweeked mine with magwell, lighter hammer spring, and match grade trigger.
I have not one issue with it not be on target...
Keep shooting, and be safe..

I don't carry a gun because I'm paranoid.
I carry a gun because there are real threats in the world.

Well said by YOCAN.
Other things I noticed is that you tend to anticipate recoil, hence the gun drops a bit when you pull the trigger.
Dry firing is a great way to practice and methodically look at how you pull your trigger without any gun movement.
Grips, I use VZ grips for all my 1911's since I compete.
For sights, I use Dawson Precision fiber optics (just my preference)

Grip is off and you are afraid of either the recoil or the detonation of the round. All you need is practice.
Keep this in mind next time you shoot: You control where you shoot not when you shoot. Now let me clarify. Obviously you are in control of whether or not the gun fires, but you have to let go of making the round fire exactly when you want it to, when on target. In other words, the firing of the round should surprise you. Now, if you are afraid of the recoil or the actual shot, then you will want to dictate exactly when the shot fires and that will be that one split second when you are ready for it too, and in doing so you are pulling the shot off target because in your mind you basically say "NOW" and snatch the trigger.
You have to practice putting the sites on target and squeezing the trigger.
