Most of the time hammers, safeties, and the rest of the internals need to be fitted. Sometimes you can drop a trigger in or change a slide stop and it will work but often minor fitting is required. Better to understand how the sear and hammer fit together before changing it out. Pretty easy to end up with an unsafe gun if you are not familiar with how the parts function. If you are not familiar with how to at least function check I wouldn't try it.

basically if you gotta ask, take it somewhere or get ready to read alot and spend a ton of money on tools, fixtures and new parts to replace the new ones you just screwed up. then again, everyones gotta start somewhere so light that wallet on fire and get ready to answer to the ol lady when she finds the accounts are low!

as someone that has a hole through 3 chairs from a gun I was sold that was gunhacked and fired after load and brushing the hammer (safety on btw)

sear/hamer engagement you need to have a jig for the sear, you need to fully understand your guns working, you need to have the right stone/file to do it not using a darn dremel. Dremels are great but not for sear engagement. You need someone that has done it right there with you giving you input.

trigger more or less drop in/polish and so on if your not a moron you can do it.

slide stop, some minor fitting make sure its dimpled sufficiently and righ tto lock back on the last round (my gunhacked one was not) and to not catch while you still have ammo.

Safety requires fitting with sear engagement you can do this yourself as well, make sure it goes all the way up on safe into that slot int he slide, do it in increments of material removal so you don't remove too much and have an unsafe gun

beavertail, drop in parts are not drop in and look like crap, non drop in you need a jig to make it ever look right, if the angles from your gun to the part your installing don't naturally mesh to make it look right is a nightmare and you probably will faill regardless (mine was "drop in" and it looks bad works fine but ruins the look)

bushing not drop in if you want your gun to not suck I have no idea whats required just seen a lot of owners switch back cause accuracy sucked after drop in ones installed (either wanting shiny or dark or X brand)

Some stuff drops in and some stuff needs fitting. The only way to find out is to try the parts.

A lot of things are labeled as drop in, but in my experience, to get the best quality, your parts should be fitted properly.
