Removing carbon buildup SS 1911

I shot approx 50 rounds through my new SS 1911 Mil-Spec at the range and can't seem to completely get rid of carbon buildup on the slide on the breech face. Is there any specific gun oil or method anyone has found works best?

Get a lead-removal rag; cleans build-up real nice off of stainless.

Just keep it away from ANYTHING blued (sights, etc)...it'll make them shiny, too.

Hoppes9 takes the carbon and powder residue right off the muzzle of my stainless.

Check this out...

I've been using this Hoppe's Elite on a non-SS PT1911 now for a while. I don't see any warnings concerning the use of this cleaner on SS. So, once you verify that there aren't any issues involved with SS (and if I were you, I'd ask a company rep), I would say this appears to be one of the premier cleaners on the market. Good luck and baby that SS.
