Any Kimber Ultra Raptor II owners
I am picking up Kimber Ultra Raptor II next week. Anyone have any tips for the break in rounds? I have 300 rounds of fmj and 200 jhp for the range. I'm not sure it will ever be my carry weapon, but I really liked the feel and looks. Just wondering if it had any odd quirks. Thanks!!

I'm just starting out. I figured I would add a 3" baby to the family. Any suggestions for the break in.

Yup, Shoot the piss out of it. It will only shoot better as she breaks in. 500 rounds is the generalized break in period.

The Kimber Ultras take 500 rounds or more to break in. Use FMJ 230 grain for break in.
Use good magazines, Kimpro, Chip McCormic or Wilson.
You need to find out which mags run best in your gun.

Not sure if the Raptor is any different mechanically as the regular Ultra Carry so I'll say that my 2 stainless UCIIs where broken in with standard 230gr ball ammo, however neither has had a single problem since round number one. Best mags I've used was the Kimpro Tac mags. Tried a couple Wilson mags in my first UC and rounds hung up on the feed ramp so those malfunctions are mag related not gun related. Second UC doesn't have a problem with Wilson ETMs though and neither had any problems with full size magazines of various types.
