AgeOfExploration on YouTube makes a lot of great tutorial videos for the Armscor/RIA 1911s. He actually made me a specific video just the other day! Everything from assem./disassem. to lessons in manufacturer history

Another great resource I have found is in the Apple App store. Search Gun Disassembly 2. Several different guns are included, and it is all user interactive. May be in other App stores as well.

Figure this might help. This idea comes from log man(who modifies EMP mags for flush bottom). This mod removes a chunk from slide stop lever so that it does not hit the plunger on re-installation. This helps to prevent "idiot marks".

Frame scratch

Allowed my son to use my 1911 Loaded stainless and when I got it back there was an "idiot mark" scratch on the frame at the slide lock. Can this scratch be buffed out w/very fine polishing rouge and a dremel w/a cotton buffing wheel? Am just asking for trouble? Any recommendations?

a green or maroon Scotch-Brite pad, some gun oil and light to medium pressure following the grain should get the mark out.
