Ugh Oh Stripped grip bushing

Ok so I am trying to change out my grip bushings to put in some slim ones for my new grips, and wouldnt you know it one of them stripped. I cannot remove it from the frame. The slot on the bushing just spun right off when trying to unscrew it. Any ideas on how to remove it now? The threads on the inside are fine.

Loctite?

I'm thinking maybe you could put some loctite red (the hard stuff) on a screw that's not important, and screw it into the bushing. Let it set (24 hrs) and give it a try. If you have one of those small soldering iron torches, you could maybe heat up the frame area around the bushing as well.

Just a couple thoughts that came to mind. Good luck.

I just dont want to resort to a drill around my frame. I am pretty talented with one but you never know and dont want to F something up.

I thinks I am going to try the loctite. In theory this should work. Thanks for the think tank

Same thing happened to me and I just used Vise Grips to carefully unscrew the bushing. S&A sells a tool specifically designed to unscrew the bushing. The next time I order a magwell from them I'm going to pick one up.

Search for "spiral screw extractor" @ sears or home depot...worked great for me, only a few dollars for one, or buy the set.
It's the size #2 that worked for me.

Man, I had a really tough time getting my grip bushings out of my TRP...I'm not sure if those things were peened in or threaded, but they weren't budging without getting boogered up. So I took it to my gunsmith. He got them out in no time and also installed my slim bushings. Cost me $10 and a lot less pain.
