Why would you put in a full length guide rod when you already have the GI with plug. Is that correct? I have a trp and took out my 2 piece and put in a GI with plug and love it. Just wondering.

That is a good question. After reading all you guys replies I am having second thoughts too.
I was caught up in the moment when I was filling out the worksheet.
I will post pictures when I get it back.

Are you using this for some precision shooting...? What's wrong with the GI sights? Just focus on the front sight on your target & you'll hit it.......There, I just saved you some money!!

2.5 points
1. I have some guns with the FLGR and some with the GI. They all work well and I can't tell the difference. If what ever is in that gun works, I'd stick with it and use the money for more upgrades or ammo.
2. Most problems happen as low low or no light. There's also a good chance of using the gun at home for home defense, and that may happen at night, so I'd recommend good night sights. As long as you can see them in the day and at night, you'll be good to go. For me it's a must have, but this is about you and not me
Good call on the swap. Enjoy the wait and post some pics if you have some time. It will also be fun to see the 'before' and 'after'

I'd like to ask anyone here if they've ever actually had an "encounter" at night with your gun in your hands & coming face to face with a criminal.....? If so, I'd like to know if you ever remember actually seeing your sights on your pistol.....or did your focus go immediately to the bad guy.....? Anyone......Anyone.....?

That's what I think MGD. While I've never had to defend myself (with a gun, or at all since high school) I would think that if someone's not a trained professional, it's just going to be point shooting.

And after the first shot in the dark, what are you gonna be able to see?
