sorry, not trying to hijack the thread, but have any of you guys replaced the 2 piece guide rod with a standard guide rod and plug? If so, which brand did you go with and where did you get it from?

Only thing I want to change about my TRP is full length guide rod. I hate having to use a tool to field strip the dam thing.

I got one about a month ago and although I've only shot it once it is my favorite pistol I own. A top notch 1911 IMO.

I have that same model as well.

Sorry for the crappy pic, I need to take another one.

On my other 1911's I replaced the full length guide rods with Ed Brown GI rods and plugs.

That's the only thing (and maybe the ILS) I may replace but I'd like to keep it stock because I really don't see the need to change anything.

TRP Operator has a one piece guide rod with a reverse plug and bull barrel.

It's a PITA to field strip.

Yeah I got 5 7rders. I probably should have got a couple of 10rders too. Anyone have pics of the 10rd mag loaded into the gun? curious how it looks.

I honestly don't have a problem with the FLGR. The wrench is in my gun bag anyway so if I have to strip it down it's right there. I doubt I'll ever CC this gun anyway, that'll go to the XDm9 once I get it

Thats what I originally wanted but they're so hard to find and I figured I'd stick with the more traditional 1911 style. I'll get my 'tacticool' railed pistol with the XDm9
