I have to agree. The longest barrell 1911 I have seen is 6". I have several books, and have never even seen any "experimental" or "prototype" builds, either.

You have to find a used one. I haven't had any trouble with my hardballer but some people call them junk. Mine has never failed and is very accurate. I haven't had to replace anything but I think most everything is interchangeable.
