I've got the money to buy two mags, need input
So yeah RIA 1911 all I have is a mecgar 8rd mag.
Figure I can splurge and buy 2 more mags so I can consider carrying this thing as soon as I get 300 more rounds down the pipe, and might as well mutli task and test the mags. So give me suggestions 8rds or larger. good for carry, good mags to see if they work in my gun.

I’ve used Wilson 47D’s for years as a carry mag. I haven’t tried their new “Elite” mags.
For competition I’ve used Chip McCormick’s “Match Grade” and “Power” mags and I can’t say they are any better or worse than the Wilson. It’s just that for carry, I was always told Wilson’s were the best, so that’s what I use. From my experience in competition, there ain’t no difference. (at least in my guns) YMMV Jeff

For what its worth...I do own one Wolff 7rd nickel finished magazine. These are actualyl made by Act-Mag- the same place where Novaks mags are made and run about 20 bucks or so.
So far....after about 3 years of useage in the Colt, Springer and Kimber TLE it has been 100%. If you come across a deal on one of these and its cheap enough...give it a try. They're a little cheaper than the Wilsons and I got mine years ago at a gunshow for about 15 bucks. I don't know if I'll buy more but I cannot say it has been any trouble. A no frills mag that is well finished and performs. - brickboy240
